Frequently Asked Questions
The GM-600 is a fixed-mount VHF marine radio built to GMDSS standards with Class A DSC, used for routine ship-to-ship/ship-to-shore communication as well as distress and safety calling on commercial and SOLAS-class vessels.
The front panel is rated IPX7, meaning it can withstand accidental submersion in about 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes, while the rear panel has a corrosion-resistant coating for the marine environment.
It transmits and receives on the 156-162 MHz marine VHF band with switchable output power, typically 1W or 25W, so you can adjust range versus battery use as needed.
The radio ships with a hand microphone, DC power cable, and mounting bracket kit. It runs on 12V DC, and an optional PS-310 DC-DC converter is available (and required for MED certification) to run it from a 24V supply. Contact our team about pricing and installation.
